Feminists Call Equal Rights Amendment Press Conference (Video)

At yesterday's Equal Rights Amendment Press Conference, called by Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney, Senator Robert Menendez and NOW President Terry O'Neill, every speaker cited Justice Scalia's recent remarks charging that there is no language in the U.S. Constitution that protects women from sex discrimination.

In the video clip below, Senator Menendez observes that it's high time to finish the work of Alice Paul and pass the ERA. (Sign NOW'S petition.)

"We are way past due for a constitutional amendment explicitly acknowledging women's rights in the United States, said Terry O'Neill. "Nothing less will do, as long as sexists like Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia feel completely justified interpreting women's rights as unprotected in the U.S. Constitution."
